Great Feeling
I tell you what...when you really don't want to workout but you suck it up and push through anyways it leaves you with the best post workout feeling ever. These are the moments that remind me just how much I love it all. I really..and I mean really didn't want to get after it today, but once the sweat started rolling and the ipod was jamming... it was on!I didn't have my best workout ever, but man I feel fantastic right now. I hope everyone can experience that type of post workout euphoria at some point. My mind is in so much better of a place after that session. So as always...don't be a pussy, get of your ass and go live!

Do you have any work-out advice for a guy about to turn 61, who use to have the work-out enthusiasm you do now, but now would rather lay on the couch all day?? Who is excited about having a good poop? I get exercise in my job. But, Lance, I just don't have the motivation to get out there and get fit anymore. PLEASE help me! Any advise would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteMaybe YOGA?? What can you tell me about Yoga? I really don't want to be one of those people who "walk the mall". Just kill me. I really want to "suck it up!" And I don't want anyone to think I am a "pussy". I really want to "get off my ass", but at my age, I REALLY like being on my ass. P.S..... I would be willing to play you a game of raquetball tomorrow and kick your ass. :) :)
ReplyDeleteYoga is really a great low impact way to get active. Now don't confuse low impact w an easy or poor workout...it is tough! There are various types of yoga w varying amounts of challenge. It can be great for balance, posture, flexibility(most important to keep quality of life as we age), burns tons of calories, builds strength and does wonders for stress. Yoga would be a perfect compliment to an already active job.You could also start simple with something simple such as do 5 stretches, 10 push ups,10 crunches once a day for a week. After week a week or two bump it up and double the reps. It would take all of less than 5 minutes. After a month or so you buy an exercise rubberband w handles and we open up the playbook a little.Since you're active already you just need consistency not intensity. Otherwise stand up and sit down 10 times every commercial break when on the couch and continue the poop enthusiasm...its important to be regular. Mall walkers suck and raquetball? Now I'm not sure who this is...but 1. I'm the greatest raquetball player ever...ever, and 2. Anytime Anywhere
