So, about my back injury. (just fyi)

So last Friday I was warming up for my workout and I suffered an absolutely awful back injury. I had 185lbs. on the bar and was just flowing through some easy dead lifts...I had already performed a "bar warm-up" consisting of : 5 overhead press, 5 back squat, 5 overhead squat and 5 good mornings.w empty Olympic bar. So on the third easy dead lift my surgically repaired knee "popped" a bit and I startled causing a very small very fast jerk/twitch mid rep...this sent an unbelievable pain into my lower left lumbar area. I went to the floor immediately, began checking my knee integrity...which was A-OK....then I found it difficult to get up because of my back. The pain was moderate at first but increased over the next 30 minutes to extreme w/ my mobility all but coming to a stop. So being in the lucky position of working w/ one of the best Physical Therapist; (Dr. Chris Kolba) in the country (not joking) I was able to be checked and immediately put on the electric muscle stimulator and ice packs. *Side note- do not confuse electric muscle stimulation(stim) with Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS only affects the pain receptors or treats the symptoms not the injured muscle. Stim actually innervates the muscle helping it to heal* At home I began cupping therapy helping to maintain a heavy flow of fresh nutrient rich blood to the injured muscle(if you have never experienced cupping therapy...you are missing out!) and more stim on my on machine at home. I also began using a traction table to help break the spasms and constant tightness or "locked" feeling in my lumbar. My wonderful and beautiful wife also gave me massage therapy as well.My back was too wrecked to take advantage of any "happy endings".I continued this treatment through the weekend, w/ a setback Saturday night at a wedding reception. Today (Tue morning) I finally began exercising again. Today I did 10 miles on the recumbent stationary bike and some lite single joint movements w/ dumb bells and rubber bands followed w/ extensive SMR(foam roller). I took the down time and put my focus on nutrition and recovery. I'm not really sure why I'm sharing this info., but hopefully there is some points of interests and/or education for anyone out there w/ lumbar issues. Hello...Hello...is this thing on????
